Starting service adaptor management

This section explains the procedures for registration so that you can get started with service adaptor management.

We assume that you already have completed creating the service agreement. Also prepare your partner account (login ID for the admin control panel) as you will need it during this process.

Getting starting with service adaptor management

To begin service adaptor management, you must use the admin Control Panel to register the service adaptor’s Distribution ID for the SA code.

Note

SACM uses SA codes to manage storage domains used to store configuration, status, etc. information for each service adaptor. By managing the status of how each unique service adaptor Distribution ID is registered with or switched between SA codes, you can conduct operations remotely and transfer configurations (equipment exchange).

Service adaptor registration procedure

Confirm the Distribution ID of the service adaptor

The Distribution ID is issued by the service adaptor vendor. How the ID is provided will differ with each device so contact your service adaptor vendor for details. (With some equipment, the Distribution ID can be confirmed via the printing on the package or label, or through the service adaptor user interface)

Distribution ID example:

0001-0000-0000-000B-02E0-4DFF-FE10-0128
  • 32 digits hexadecimal

Register the Distribution ID in the SA code

Login to the admin Control Panel to conduct the registration process.
